Letter from the Head Teacher
I am pleased that you are considering Broadway School for the secondary education of your son/daughter. The prospectus and our website contain useful information about our school but you are very welcome to come and make a personal visit so that you can experience what we do and see for yourself how enjoyable and exciting our school truly is.
Academic success is important to us and it is also important for us to acknowledge that schools are about more than excellent examination results.

Whilst we want our children to succeed, we also want them to be happy, to enjoy coming to school and to thrive and participate fully in all that we have to offer, both in lessons and in the wider curriculum. Our school is about developing, in partnership with Parents, rounded, responsible, caring young adults who contribute to the society that they live in.

Broadway is a very successful school that is always looking to improve. We have an inclusive 'can do' attitude which supports all young people in achieving their ambitions. This is caputerd in our school motto:

Our Children, Our Community, Believe it can be done!

We have a rich and varied curriculum that is supplemented with many trips throughout the UK and abroad. We offer outstanding pastoral and academic support to students to meet their academic targets. We often run Saturday and holiday schools to support our students to fully prepare for their examinations.

Our school has some of the best educational facilities in the country. It is known internationally for its design and innovation We are the first school in Birmingham to be built in the Building Schools for the future programme; all teaching rooms have been designed to incorporate the latest Information Communications Technologies to deliver the National Curriculum. All students at our school are encouraged to work hard and display high standards of behaviour in order to achieve their full potential. Our aim is to prepare students so they are equipped for life after school in further education, training or the work place. For all parents/carers the successful education of their son/daughter is a priority. To this end, school and parents/carers must enter into a partnership, ensuring that each student receives the support and encouragement necessary for academic success.

I would ask that parents/carers considering our school for their child bear in mind that as school we actively discourage parents/carers from removing students from school for holidays during term time. Students need to be in school in order to learn and even minor disruptions to this can have a huge effect on their performance in exams.

As you can see, we all feel passionately about Broadway School. As a Parent, choosing a school that shares your values and aspirations is vitally important. Should you choose to send your child to Broadway School you can be confident that they will receive the love, care and commitment necessary to ensure that they too will feel at home here.
