Strategic Vision
This section outlines our six year vision and what we need to do to ensure that we achieve our vision.

A school with a collective Team Spirit that responds well to change and is inclusive:
  • Respond to the proposed reforms to 14-19 Education to the greatest benefit of the students
  • Implement and develop an excellent curriculum at Key Stage 3
  • Invest in staff and look for and exploit all opportunities for partnership with external and internal organizations
  • Keep recruitment and retention of excellent staff a priority
  • Rebrand and develop a corporate Broadway ethos and mission statement.
A school where the quality of Learning and Teaching is outstanding:
  • Develop the pedagogy of all teachers to encompass cutting edge philosophies and practices
  • Promote risk taking and build banks of collaboratively planned outstanding lessons
  • Further develop the role of ASTs in coaching
  • Increase monitoring of Learning and Teaching through SLT, MLT and external reviews
  • Develop action research projects to encourage application of new strategies in Learning and Teaching to raise standards
  • Introduce Masters level and TLA accreditation.
Leadership and Management is highly developed across all levels of the organisation:
  • Develop sustainable and real relationships with Higher Education
  • Re-structure and review Leadership and Management Structures
  • Exploit student leadership potential
  • Lead locally and nationally on aspects of outstanding practice at Broadway
  • Develop Leadership and Management opportunities across the school
  • Increase accountability and develop excellent Performance Management Systems.
A school with a culture of individual and collective achievement:
  • Develop the study skills of all our students
  • Students to exceed their potential in English and Maths
  • Reduce in house variation between Directorates
  • Develop a plethora of ways in which the school rewards achievement at every level
  • Raise aspirations of students, parents and the community
  • Achieve a second specialism and fully exploit our Language College status
  • Meet the curriculum needs of all students in all curriculum areas
  • Intervention happens early at every level
  • Celebrate the cultures of the various ethnic groups within the school and have a deep understanding and tolerance of other faiths and cultures
  • Develop excellence and innovation in Learning and Teaching.

A school with a culture of continuous self review:
  • Self review to become an integral characteristic of the work of all staff and Directorates
  • All staff have the necessary level of expertise to interpret data relevant to their role
  • Data used to inform pedagogy and student curriculum choices
  • The school self review process to involve student and parental contributions
  • Quality of Teaching and Learning is systematically reviewed and evaluated.
An inclusive school with a culture of Staff Development:
  • Develop and expand the range of professional development opportunities available to all staff
  • Develop further induction programmes for staff who join the school or take on a new role
  • Link all professional development to strategic aims and performance management
  • The school to achieve Investors in People Accreditation
  • To disseminate good practice locally and nationally.
A school with a Transformational Educational agenda and outstanding facilities for students parents and the community:
  • Ensure all teaching rooms are equipped to the highest standard
  • Building schools for the future is exploited to the full
  • Engage Aston Pride and other organizations to maximize capital grants
  • Ensure all staff have the appropriate skills to fully access and exploit IT
  • Work with LA to deliver ground breaking ICT in Broadway and subsequent Birmingham Schools
  • Fully exploit ICT opportunities to engage with parents and the wider school community
  • Ensure ICT is integral to all curriculum delivery.
