Message from the Head
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK (14/06/2013)
Overall we believe behaviour is outstanding at Broadway. Our attention is now turning to our use of language; what we say and how we say it. The spoken word is so important.

'The limits of my language are the limits of my world'
Ludwig Wittgenstein
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK (07/05/2013)
The theme this week is truth.

The Oxford dictionary defines truth as; the quality of being true, genuine.
Often, if you watch a film or read a book, the story is about getting to the truth. Who did it? What really happened? The truth is all important.
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK (22/03/2013)
We will break up at 1.30pm on Thursday 28th March, and return to school on Tuesday 16th April at 8.40am.

I hope that you have a happy and restful half term break, and I look forward to seeing you back in school on Tuesday 16th April.
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK (25/01/2013)
Teamwork and Inclusion

"Now this is the Law of the Jungle - as old and as true as the sky;
For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack."

From Kipling's Second Jungle Book
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK (15/01/2013)
The Broadway values of Responsibility, Inclusivity, Aspiration, Generosity, Appreciation, Integrity, Optimism and Respect will not change; we need to develop these values further and embed them into Behaviour, Teaching and general school life.
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK (29/11/2012)
“It's not hard to make decisions when you know what your values are.”

― Roy Disney
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK (21/11/2012)
Aspiration is a hunger to fulfil our dreams and visions. When we aspire to a goal, that aspiration guides our decisions and directs our energy. Quite often it also rallies others to the same goal, then becomes the focus of shared efforts and satisfactions
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK (16/11/2012)
William Shakespeare wrote in Julius Caesar:

“There is a tide in the affairs of men, which taken at the flood, leads on to fortune; omitted, all the voyage of their life is bound in shallows and in miseries.
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK (06/11/2012)
"Groups often ask what it takes to succeed. I used to say hard work, a little patience, a little bit of luck and taking advantage of breaks along the way. Now I add operating at the highest level of integrity."

Tim P.Flyn
EXAM SUCCESS (07/09/2012)
Congratulations for our best ever exam results; 95% five A* to C, 98% pass at A2.

Broadway School is amongst the top 5% of schools in the country for our value added results.
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK (07/09/2012)
“Continuous effort – not strength or intelligence is the key to unlocking our potential”

- Winston Churchill
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK (22/06/2012)
"It is by translating your fine sense of aspiration into actual lofty deeds that you grow toward your ideal. Link your lofty thoughts to earnest, active effort, and good results will inevitably follow"
- Grenville Kleiser
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK (01/06/2012)
“The people who influence us the most are not those who detain us with their continual talk, but those who live their lives like stars in the sky and the lilies of the field – simply and unaffectedly"
- Oswald Chambers
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK (24/05/2012)
“Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out”
― Robert Collier
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK (17/05/2012)
“As we look ahead into the next century leaders will be those who empower others.”
― Bill Gates
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK (11/05/2012)
“A half truth, like half a brick, is always more forcible as an argument than a whole one. It carries better.”

― Stephen Leacock
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK (04/05/2012)
There are two gifts we can give our children, the first is roots and the second is wings.
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK (20/04/2012)
Our core value of optimism is so important to us during these turbulent times and is very closely linked with hope;

“Hope is some extraordinary spiritual grace that God gives us to control our fears, not to oust them”

― Vincent Joseph McNabb
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK (13/03/2012)
'Intelligence is what you use when you don't know what to do'
Jean Piaget

Congratulations! For the second year running Broadway School is in the top 100 most improved schools in the country for sustained improvement. This year we are amongst the top 50 schools.
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK (29/02/2012)
When Demaratus was asked whether he held his tongue because he was a fool or for the want of words, he replied “A fool cannot hold his tongue”, Simonides said that he never repented having held his tongue but was often sorry that he had spoken.
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK (28/11/2011)
"You can have anything you want – if you want it badly enough. You can be anything you want to be, do anything you set out to accomplish if you hold to that desire with singleness of purpose”
Abraham Lincoln

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK (18/11/2011)
The gift of speech
How do we use the gift of speech?
The tongue is a very small part of the body yet is the most powerful part of the body. How do we use it? For good, for everyone’s edification? The right word at the right time can change lives!
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK (10/10/2011)
"Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision, the ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organisational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results." Henry Ford, Industrialist
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK - MORAL RESPONSIBILITY (26/09/2011)
We all have a ‘moral responsibility’ to ensure that we are role models for students, professional and diligent in our work and good ambassadors for the school.
Thought for the Week (19/09/2011)
This half term we are reflecting on the Core Value of Responsibility.

"An individual step in character training is to put responsibility on the individual" Baden Powell
Thought For the Week (06/05/2011)
'During this high time of change it is our values that will sustain us - what are our values?' R Skelton

'Personal leadership is the process of keeping your vision and values before you and aligning your life to be congruent with them' S Covey
Thought for the Week - Values (28/04/2011)

Thought of the Week (05/10/2010)
We can achieve more by working together whether it is sharing ideas, working together on outstanding lessons or just being a "good listener for a colleague".

Only by working together can we 'inspire' the students to make exceptional progress.

Have confidence in our abilities as a result of our achievements. Whatever we do make sure we do it well!
