Extended Schools
An extended school provides access for children, young people and their parents or carers to services that are categorised as follows:
- Wrap around childcare from 8.00am - 6.00pm for all 5-14 year-olds, when required
- A varied menu of activities including study support
- Parenting support including family learning
- Swift and easy referral to specialist services
- Wider community access to ICT, arts, sports and adult learning
This will be achieved by creating partnerships with community, voluntary and statutory organisations in the local area to deliver a range locally based initiatives. www.theastoncluster.co.uk
